Hon Hai Precision Industry has a big hand in making the devices you hold in your hand. The company, known by its trade name, Foxconn, is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer. It manufactures mobile phones as well as computers, servers, and TVs. Other products it makes include components such as connectors, cable assemblies, enclosures, flat-panel displays, game consoles, and motherboards. Hon Hai also provides design engineering and mechanical tooling services. The global company's customers include Apple, Cisco, Dell, Nokia, and Sony. Chairman Terry Gou founded Hon Hai in 1974 to make plastic switches for TVs. In 2016 Hon Hai bought Japanese electronics company Sharp.
